Cable Standing Cross Row Exercise

Standing Cross Row

Target Muscle: Posterior Deltoid (Shoulders)

Workout Mechanics: Compound | Workout Force: Pull Exercise | Utility: Auxiliary

Stablizer Muscle: Biceps Brachii

Synergists: Infraspinatus, Teres Minor, Deltoid, Lateral, Trapezius, Middle, Trapezius, Lower, Rhomboids, Brachialis, Brachioradialis

Standing Cross Row Instructions

Standing Cross Row Technique

Stand between two shoulder-high cable pulleys (adjustable cross-over machine). Grasp right stirrup with left hand and left stirrup with right hand. Step back until cables are angled back 30° to 45°. Position both elbows at height of shoulders, one over the other.

Standing Cross Row Form

Pull both cable attachments by moving elbows back to sides. Keep upper arms horizontal, perpendicular to trunk. Return and repeat.

Latissimus Dorsi becomes involved if elbows drop below shoulders.
